Effective November 1, 2017 Wedgewood Golf Management and the Sparwood Golf Club Society agreed to a management contract for five years with an extension option. Wedgewood Golf Management agreed to provide management, marketing and maintenance services operating as the Sparwood Golf Club.

The Sparwood Golf Course was built with the assistance of volunteers and the District of Sparwood in 1984.  The clubhouse was completed in 1988 and features a full kitchen, bar, 60 seat restaurant and 40 seat deck overlooking the golf course. The restaurant (The Golf House Grill) is open year round.

The golf course has nine holes and a driving range. It offers a different set of tees for those wishing to play eighteen holes. There are fifteen electric golf cars available for rent as well as golf clubs for those that need them.

Wedgewood Golf Management specializes in golf course management, maintenance and marketing. In addition, the partners have experience in construction, renovations and grow-in. The principals are Barrie McWha, Ray Riva, and Mike Riva. Together they have decades of combined experience in the golf industry.

Barrie McWha is a Life Member of the PGA of Canada and has private club, resort and public course management experience. Ray Riva is a graduate of UBC in business and Mike Riva graduated from Fairview College in turfgrass management. Both spent many years in a family owned golf course business.  The three combined have over 110 years in the golf and turf management regimes.

Currently Wedgewood Golf Management has three courses under contract and plans to add several more in the future. The company brings integrated management, accounting, marketing, personnel and payroll functions, and purchasing programs, all designed to deliver a more efficient and profitable operation for the owners of courses.
